Steve grew up in a very musical family, where five out of the six siblings play at least one instrument each, and all of them sing. Ever the pragmatic one, Steve “took a shine” to the bass at age 13, figuring a decent bass player would never want for musical employment (unfortunately, it would take a few years before anyone considered his bass playing “decent”). Largely self-taught, Steve has played several styles of music with various bands through the years, such as Oasis (before those Brits made off with the same name and went on to international fame and fortune), Main Event, Turning Point, Blue Million (Mark’s band) and Thunder Rose. He is a life-long resident of the Columbia area, and currently lives in Irmo with his wife Debbie and two children. Along with Randy (Drums), Steve helps bring a groove which provides a rock-solid foundation for the other members of the band to build on, guaranteeing the audience a “funkified soulful good time!”
