About Us
Sid began playing the saxophone in his school band when he was 11 years old. Throughout middle and high school, he became very interested in jazz and spent a lot of time playing in local big bands, jazz combos, and jam bands throughout the Pee Dee of SC. Upon entering college, Sid began focusing more on the classical side of the horn. After earning a Bachelor’s in Music Education and a Master’s in Saxophone Performance from the University of South Carolina, he entered the lucrative field of middle school band directing. As a classical musician, Sid has been soprano and alto saxophonist for the award winning Assembly Saxophone Quartet. In the spring of 2008, Sid had the rare privilege of performing as a soloist on stage at Carnegie Hall. Accepting the fact that Carnegie Hall would be the pinnacle of his classical career, Sid has now gone back to the dark side—playing the stuff that first got him interested in performing. Sid resides in Columbia with his wife Meagan and two kids.
