About Us
Joey picked up his first guitar, a plastic 4 string Christmas present, at the age of 4 and jumped up and down on his bed “playing” along with a 45 of the Beatles “I Want to Hold Your Hand”. Later that afternoon his dad showed him how to play “Five Foot Two Eyes of Blue” on the plastic guitar. Within months he was taking lessons and had his first “gig” at the age of 5 playing for residents of a retirement home. Music was always around the Fralick house and although his father couldn’t play, he knew enough about music to help him “figure out which chord comes next” while learning everything from “Your Cheating Heart” to “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” -- which probably helps explain his love of diverse musical styles. The first legitimate band Joey played in was called Windstorm which began in high school. The band played many of the local Columbia clubs including Rockafella’s, O’Henry’s and the Elbow Room along with numerous fraternity and sorority parties. The band also appeared as an opening act for such artists as Nantucket and Delbert McClinton. Joey’s next band was called “The First String” which had even more local success opening for such acts as Richard Marx, BTO and Otis Day and the Nights. Joey currently lives in Lexington, SC with his wife Cheryl and his two amazing daughters, both of whom (for better or worse!) also have a passion for playing music as well!
